Many of you know that Ben and I returned back from our dream vacation in August. It’s finally time for me to share with you all the great adventures of our 2017 Mc Euro trip. The trip started off with a couple of days in Barcelona, embarked on a 7 day Mediterranean cruise, 5 days in Italy, and then Ben and I split from the rest of the family and did a couple of days in Istanbul, Turkey. For the next 3 weeks I will be doing a series on our Mediterranean adventure of a lifetime. Sit back, sip on your favorite glass of wine, or my personal preference sangria, and enjoy the traveling with the Mc’s.
First up Barcelona, Spain. Spain will always have such a special place in my heart after visiting for the first time 4 years ago. I was jamming to my current favorite album by Ed Sheeran, Divide and blasting Barcelona and dancing around like a crazy any chance I got. This was a quick trip to Barcelona, with jetlag and recouping from a day of traveling we were to Embark for our Mediterranean cruise the next day.
Hotel: https://www.barcelo.com/es/hoteles/espana/barcelona/barcelo-sants/ $120 a night, weird space shuttle décor, felt a little like home being from Houston, perfect location considering train station was 15 steps from the front door. Also the blackout hotel room was pretty nice considering we were recouping from jetlag.
Favorite Restaurants: Restaurant 7 Portes
Food: Tapas (seriously my absolutely favorite foods in the world) small portions, great cheese and meat varieties, waffle doused in chocolate syrup on the boardwalk, and my favorite PAELLA.
Drinks: Sangria & Tinto de Verano (stay tuned for my homemade recipe of these)
Places to visit: Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, La Rambla, Montserrat, Arc de Triomf, Plaza de Espanya, Barcelona Boardwalk, Santa Maria del Mar.
So after a quick morning passing through the streets of Barcelona it was then time for us to board the Princess ship and get settled in for our 7 day Mediterranean cruise.
